What is CeraFuse™?
LifeShine CeraFuse™ fuses reactive silicone polymers to the paintwork to create an ultra durable ceramic infused barrier for a lifetime of flawless shine and superior protection.
What is the difference between Carbon Shield and CeraFuse™ offering?
Carbon Shield was formulated to provide the protective, durable qualities of a ceramic coating. CeraFuse™ contains an increase of the ceramic ingredient to generate higher levels of durability without the need to change the application method. The product is also now offered with additional guarantee benefits to the customer, a new sustainable Aftercare Collection carton now sourced and manufacturered in the UK, which contains some of Autoglyms latest retail products.
How does LifeShine CeraFuse™ differ from other ceramic coatings on the market?
The main element is that this product is innovated, manufactured and supplied by Autoglym. We are the most respected and most recognised business in car care solutions which is why we hold the largest market share in this sector.
Autoglym products are developed and balanced to be effective, easy to use and apply which enables our products to be applied correctly first time generating high levels of customer satisfaction. For LifeShine CeraFuse™, we have been able to create a ceramic product that maintains the ease of use benefits of our previous generations whilst still retaining the additional benefits around our colour enhancing technology which is great for new and used cars and protects the paintwork with a highly durable, long lasting protection. We also offer our consumers an unparalleled guarantee which is backed up by our own inhouse team of specialists.
With the exception of bird dropping claims and our newly included dye transfer, there is no limit to the number of claims you can make or the value of those claims for the duration of your ownership of the vehicle. As far as we are aware no other brand or manufacturer of paint protection solutions are able to substantiate this level of confidence in their product. In addition to this, our unparalleled guarantee shows how confident our customers can be in our product once it is applied. These elements, along with the fact that this product is applied as a one stage application process, sets us aside from other ceramic offerings.
How is CeraFuse™ more durable? How long will it last?
Our previous Carbon Shield product had a strong level of durability which is why it was so popular with our Partners and consumers. With LifeShine CeraFuse™ we have increased the ceramic content which in turn has generated higher levels of durability which you would expect with a ceramic protection. We also recommend regular use of our Autoglym Retail products which are supplied in our complimentary Aftercare Collection and will ensure that the consumer can maintain that showroom finish for the lifetime of ownership.
How can you remove the protection for paint work rectification / damage repair?
In these circumstances, the coating should be removed using a machine polisher and an abrasive compound. The product would then need to be reapplied to the repaired area.
How re-useable are the cloths and applicators with LifeShine CeraFuse™ exterior coating?
All of our cloths and applicators have remained the same for LifeShine CeraFuse™, the application of the product has remained the same, so there was no requirement to change the application cloths or applicators.
Carbon Shield has a long activation time, does this differ with CeraFuse™?
The formulation has been created to ensure the application process remains unchanged and has enabled us to continue to provide an easy to use product with equally long activation time. We recommend not leaving it on the paintwork for longer than 15 mins in normal weather conditions.
Should a ceramic product not be in a glass bottle?
Some ceramic coatings are placed in a glass bottle due to quite specifc usage instructions, these can also take longer to apply and have a faster activation time which results in a less forgiving application experience.
What is the hardness rating? Some competitors declare measurements in this area
In our experince a ceramic coating can only be as hard as the surface that it is being applied to and in many instances these tests are carried out on steel panels which already have a high hardness rating so giving the desired result. They are measuring the substrate and not the coating.
What value is in the new carton?
In line with our improved offering with LifeShine CeraFuse™ and to help reduce our carbon footprint, we are launching a new Aftercare Collection carton, this is manufactured using high quality cardboard and made from 60% raw recycled materials and is 100% recyclable. This is produced by one of the largest manufacturers in the UK. In addition the new design with an anti scuff coating gives our carton a premium feel which a consumer would expect from an Autoglym product. The carton contains a carefully selected range of Autoglym retail products and accessories with a combined RRP of over £100.
Why do we need Rapid Ceramic Spray in the Aftercare Collection if I already have a Ceramic protective coating?
We recommend that you should always regularly maintain your vehicle, so we have included an additional ceramic product to help refresh your ceramic base layer and to support those customers that enjoy adding additional protection as part of their car cleaning process. This will also give other household members the chance to try this popular Autoglym product.
Will we still supply Repair kits to body shops doing that repair?
Yes, these can be purchased through the Customer Services team with the customers guarantee number. The phone number for this is 01462 666677.
Are there new additions to the terms and conditions with CeraFuse™?
There is a full list of our new terms and conditions available at LifeShine.com. Changes to the terms and conditions include additional bird lime claims and the new addition of dye transfer to further support customers with lighter interiors.
How is the product applied?
CeraFuse™ is applied to the whole vehicle. Start at the front and work your way around. Once back at the start buff off. In warmer conditions it is advisable to work panel by panel. In the event of the product curing prior to be being buffed off, a small amount of product can be re-applied to “reactivate” before buffing off. This process is called a one stage application.
What happens if the product is left on for too long? What are the next steps?
Rehydrate with more CeraFuse™ to re-activate the product and buff immediately.
Does CeraFuse™ prevent bird droppings?
No, but it acts as a sacrifical layer to protect the paintwork as much as possible. Should the bird dropping cause a permanent blemish on the paintwork the guarantee provides peace of mind to the consumer that it can be rectified by Autoglyms Technical Services team.
Does LifeShine Interior Protectant prevent dye transfer?
No, but it does provide a layer of protection to reduce the risk as much as possible. Should permanent staining occur as a result of dye transfer the guarantee provides peace of mind to the consumer that it can be rectified by Autoglyms Technical Services team.
Is Cerafuse™ 100% ceramic?
No, it is blended with other components to balance ease of use and effectiveness. No paint protection ceramic can be 100% ceramic.
